The purpose of the BOMA/Raleigh-Durham Nominating Committee is to identify, nurture, and select future qualified leaders of the Federation whose vision and commitment embodies the Mission Statement.
The Nominating Committee will consist of all the Past Presidents of BOMA/Raleigh-Durham and be chaired by the most immediate Past President; the committee will consist of at least three (3) people. The committee will select candidates for officers and directors in accordance with the bylaws and will report their names to all members in writing at least thirty (30) days prior to the Annual Meeting (or at the meeting at which elections are held). Nothing contained herein will prevent any member from nominating or voting for any eligible member for any office in the Federation, through means specific within the bylaws.
GOALS AND DUTIES
Identify, guide and nurture future leadership prospects at all levels – local, regional and international.
Develop and implement a timeline for “call announcements” for publication in the Federation’s website and/or newsletter.
Provide for a Committee evaluation process of prospective members for leadership positions.
Present nominations for officer/director positions to the Board at the October Board meeting.
Annonce candidate nominations to the membership at the Annual meeting )or at the meeting at which elections are held).
Maintain a list of committee members and update the BAE as members join/depart the committee. It is the Chair's responsibility to know who is on the Nominating Committee and how to contact everyone in case of emergency.
Send meeting notices to committee members via email or fax.
Coordinate with the BAE on reserving a meeting location and ordering food, if necessary.
Record meeting minutes and distribute to committee with a copy to the BAE.
Report to the Executive Committee on the status of goals and objectives.
