BOMA/Raleigh-Durham was well represented at the BOMA International Winter Business Meeting in Washington, DC.

Attending were Kathy Powell, President; Amy Carroll, Vice President; Bob Barton, Government Affairs Chair and Board member; Past President Macky Guilherme; and BOMA Fellow Becky Hanner. Kathy, Amy, Bob and Macky visited most of the elected Congressmen representing Raleigh-Durham on Capital Hill. They met with Representative David Price; David Simons, legislative aid to Senator Thom Tillis; and Robert Sneeden, legislative assistant to Senator Richard Burr. They also visited Representative George Holding’s office. The three issues that they spoke about with our elected officials were: (1) ADA notice and compliance, (2) safeguarding Energy Star for commercial buildings, and (3) increasing investment into our nation’s infrastructure.
